How Are You Like A Faucet Handle?

Your Role as a Leader and Growth Potential Is A Lot Like A Faucet Handle . . .

Transcript:

About a year and a half ago, I went to a training session, and the facilitator,

whose name is Michele Cushatt, who is AWESOME, by the way — incredible,

author, amazing leader. She handed one of these to every participant,

which is a faucet handle. And, at first,

I thought: “I can't wait to get this bonus plumbing lesson that she's going to give — this is amazing!”

But that did not happen. So, still waiting on that Michele . . .

but what it was was a physical token,

a reminder that as a leader you have the opportunity to, and responsibility, really,

to open up the growth potential of the people you work with or, conversely,

put a limit on it, decrease it. It's a great example.

Just a really good reminder, and I thought I'd share it with you guys today.

I have it on my desk. I look at it all the time.

So thank you, Michele, and I hope it encourages you.
