A Lesson Learned from Sending Handwritten Notes (Know Your Audience)

Transcript:

I like handwritten notes, whether it's to your friends, or family members, business colleagues, partners. vendors I really like receiving and giving something in the mail and, I don't know about you, but it's kind of nice when you open up your mailbox and you see something that's not a bill or bad news or something like that :)

So this year, I sent out some New Years cards from Work Heartily and got the ominous “RETURN TO SENDER” sticker on a couple of them back and in this particular case, they had moved and I was able to connect with them digitally and actually send them a digital version of the card, but it was a good lesson for me about knowing your audience and, knowing which way they like to communicate.

Some people. I mean, I like receiving physical cards, but, they didn't really care and we were able to fix that up with a digital solution, but it's really just a great example, or another analogy of how to work with somebody and knowing who they are and really it's on you to understand your audience. And anyway, great lesson learned, and I thought you would would benefit from it. Take care.
