2 Years Ago: A Gratitude Post

“Is this an April Fool’s joke?”

That was the first question I asked on the phone call after the board of Staffing as a Mission told me they made the decision to let me go. I was in shock, didn’t agree with the decision, but was powerless in that situation. I had to rely on God’s strength and my identity in Him vs. anywhere else — it was a painful lesson.

So much growth has happened since April 1st, 2020, and I wanted to share what I’m grateful for upon reflecting on the past 2 years:

• My wife: her love and strength

• Each of our amazing children with their unique talents, curiosity, and enthusiasm

• Our dog Bucky (@buckytheborderterrier on Instagram 🐕)

• Friends that were there when we needed them

• The gift of music

• Coffee

• Iron Tribe and the entire ITF community in Brentwood

• Epic family camping trips

• My parents and siblings and our fellowship

• Work Heartily, LLC and the way God is using it as a vehicle to bless others

• The opportunity to learn new skills and hone others

• Each of my clients I’ve had the privilege of coaching and the transformation I witness

• WH’s consulting clients and the growth we’ve seen — I’m grateful that they gave us the opportunity to work and grow together

• My colleagues

• The Staffing as a Mission team and its continued success
